Chandra Wilson's Education Background
Chandra Danette Wilson was born on August 27, 1969 in Houston, Texas. She perhaps best known for her portrayal of Dr. Miranda Bailey on Gray’s Anatomy.
Wilson attended the Houston-based Theater Under the Stars at age five. She later attended Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She eventually graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where she earned a bachelor of fine arts in drama.
Wilson had several minor roles in television and some stage success as well. Her role on Grey’s Anatomy is what truly launched her career. Wilson has been nominated for several awards for her role as Dr. Miranda Bailey. She has also directed an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Currently she is married with three children.
