eduHOOKUPS.com Makes College Casual Sex Easy
You no longer have to leave your dorm to find casual sex. Say “goodbye” to frat parties and “2-4-1” specials because it is only a click away.
Eduhookups.com, previously UChicago Hookups, is a site that helps find college students random sexual encounters, offering a no-strings-attached arrangement. Students can sort through possible partners with “platonic”, “casual” and “serious” categories.
A student at the University of Chicago created the site for just his fellow peers, but early this week, it expanded to other students at Columbia College and Northwestern University. Next week, Brown University students will also be able to use the site. To register, these students need only a university email address.
With already 800 users, the creator said that roughly 2,000 private messages have been sent.
“We’re trying to change the ages-old stereotype that UChicago students are severely sexually deprived,” he posted on the site’s wall.
Ok guys, I hate to play the “Mom” here, but this website is a little scary, and for two reasons: STDs and unwanted pregnancy.
I know you don’t need a website to have casual sex, but it makes that much easier. Plus, when you go out with a group of friends, you likely have that “big brother” or “big sister” friend that keeps an eye on you.
Also, does anybody remember that “little ordeal” with the “Craigslist Killer”? I think this website could lead to a similar situation. Sure, requiring a university email takes out some of the risk, but Craigslist Killer Phillip Markoff was a medical student himself.
All I can say is, if you go out for casual sex, tell someone before you leave, and tell them what time you expect to be back. Being cautious is always the best policy, so bring your cell phone, condoms and pepper spray.
