New York Teacher Admits Prostitute Past
They say sometimes you can’t escape your past, and for a Bronx, New York elementary school teacher, her past may have just cost her her career.
30-year-old Art Teacher Melissa Petro went on administrative duty last week after speaking out via an article published on the Huffington Post about her past life as a prostitute and a stripper.
The article in the Huffington Post was published earlier this month and criticized the website Craigslist for shutting down an adult services section. Petro went on record stating that she had used the web site to post advertisements where she would engage in trading sexual services for cash from October 2006 to January 2007.
“I wrote my own ads, screened my own prospective dates, decided on my own what I would and would not do for money, and — best of all — I kept every penny I earned,” she told HP.
There is also an online video that has surfaced where Petro allegedly describes her experience as a 19-year-old Mexican stripper.
“I did it for the money but it was also true that I enjoyed it,” Petro says in the video.
The video also shows her comparing teaching to sex by stating, “It’s fun and it’s especially fun in the beginning. And then it’s over and then you gotta do it again and again and again.”
